I think I have seen a previous post on this but can't seem to find it now.

For those attending more than one summer seminar (USNA, USMA, USAFA)
will they take the CFA at each?

Do they have the option to keep trying to improve after summer seminars?

I'm not sure about the answers to your first questions, so I'll defer to someone who does.

Yes, you can always try to improve your CFA scores, up to the March 1 deadline. In my opinion, there is no benefit in submitting multiple scores (i.e., every month) to demonstrate perseverance, etc. What counts is that you improve your score substantially.

So, if you don't do as well as you'd like this summer and embark on a workout program, wait until you've been able to make a real difference before resubmitting. The reason? Whether you run the mile in 7:25 or 7:15 or do 6 vs. 5 pushups isn't likely to make or break anything. If you're able to take it from a 7:25 to a 6:50, or 5 to 9 pullups that's real progress.

The above said, you do NOT want to show up at CFA out of shape. There is still ~6 weeks to go. Make good use of that time. You may not get to where you want to be but will definitely be better than you are today. What you do NOT want to do is, now that sports are ending at many schools, is sit around and eat chips and dip for the next 6 weeks . . .

Yes, you can re-do the CFA......but don't wait until late in the appointment cycle. If you think you can substantially improve your CFA scores, I would strongly recommend getting after it and re-submitting before Christmas. Why? Once nominations start rolling in to the SA's, appointments will begin rolling out. For eg, your MOC's slot could be offered to someone as soon as MOC submits nominations to SA, if the applications are all complete. USNA or any other SA is not going to wait until March 1 on the chance that someone on the MOC's slate might re-submit their CFA.

Yes, applications are indeed open until March 1. But, noms are due from MOC's by the end of January and many are submitted in Dec. Admissions may wait on offering an appointment to a candidate from District XX in State XX if there are one or more strong appearing candidates on that slate who don't have their applications complete. ..........your CFA is complete, even if you don't like the scores. So, if you want to improve, get it done in the fall!

They do take CFA's at all 3 of those SS's, but at AF's, it's only for practice due to the altitude. You can't count it as your real CFA. However, if you take it at either of the other academies and do well, you can call that academy when you get home and ask them to submit your scores to AF (or even between Army & Navy).

One warning - Navy does allow you to take the CFA as many times as you want and resubmit scores, but WP and AF do not. Once you submit your scores, if they are passing, you must be asked by them in order to take the CFA again. At WP, SLS CFA is a freebie - you can take it again after that without permission (either at Navy or with your PE teacher, etc.). So if you're planning on either of those, make sure your scores are what you want before submitting them. You CAN take it as many times as you want, but only submit them once you're happy.
