Hey everyone,
sorry for the redundant topic. I've been prepping for the CFA for a while and just want to know where I stack up, and what people think about my scores. I'm male.

Bball throw: 75 ft
Pull Ups: 17
Shuttle: 8.9
Crunches: 90
Push Ups: 62
Mile: 7:46

I'm still working to improve and plan on taking my first official CFA early October. I understand that the mile is a critical component to the CFA, and I'm still improving on it. However a question I have is, because I did considerably well on crunches and pull ups, will this compensate for a lower mile time in any way? Thanks in advance.

Wow thanks for that! I thought my scores were low even with nearly maxing out almost three. Thank you!

I realize every candidate is anxious and wants affirmation of their chances. That being said, simply looking at the USAFA website:

This shows you the average scores. To increase your chances, exceed the average. Keep in mind CFA is a small portion of the admission calculus and your grades, test scores, leadership experience, and athletics will have greater impact.

Since the CFA is pass/fail, the answer to your question might be found here: https://www.gainserviceacademyadmission.com/candidate-fitness-assessment-score-calculator/. @susan899 kindly shared this URL a week or so ago. While your other numbers look good, keep working to drastically improve your mile time. Tapper off on the running a few days before retaking the test. You don’t want to be leg weary; you want fresh legs for the run.

Good luck.
That is a really cool tool. Thank you. My son, like OP, thought averages would make him not get a very good score. He is actually a recruited athlete, yes, he knows that doesn't mean much, and his mile time surprised him. Without practices due to Corona, he realized he will have to condition more on his own.

Were your scores accepted or have you not submitted them yet?

Mine were the following:
Bball throw: 84 feet
Pull Ups: 19 (max is 18 so last one didn't count)
Shuttle: 8.5
Crunches: 90
Push Ups: 79
Mile: 6:35

Mine was accepted at USMMA, USNA, USAFA I also did it back in June when I had time. I'm in brick and mortar and varsity football practice until 6:30pm Mon-Thurs. I was so glad to get it done!

Thank you. I'll be honest- those months when there was NOTHING to do....I trained for the CFA. I have a pull up bar in my hallway. Football started over the summer and I'm a lifeguard....there was NO time if I didn't do it then.

I wish I could say the same. I have yet to take mine. Wish me luck lol

I didnt send yet im still deciding whether or not because it was raining all week and doing some of the events outside was terrible. so I might retake it but I would love to know if anyone thinks my scores are acceptable

like I understand some people do better naturally in other areas but I feel like i can push for a better over all.

Yeah I'm having weather issues too. Currently 100+ degrees where I live.

I'm really hoping for like 80 degrees sort of cloudy and a relatively dry day but of course it won't be perfect. So if this rain continues i might have to go with my scores and try my luck anyways good luck dude
