I am a female applicant for the class of 2025. I was wondering if anyone could tell me my chances of passing the CFA with my current scores

Basketball Throw: 43ft
Flexed Arm Hang: 15s
Shuttle Run: 9.4
Sit Ups: 75
Push ups: 30
Mile run: 7:20

Thank you for your advice

I think that your scores would be passing. The only thing that might not be is the flexed arm hang, but I saw one set of scores that had a 13 second flexed arm hang and she got into West Point.

Thank you for your feedback! I am continuing to work on that aspect and hopefully will improve before taking the real thing.

Why not work on pull-ups? Even one puts you further ahead. Get a pull-up bar, hit it to try every time you go by. Find an assisted pull-up machine to use at the gym. Alternate with your flexed-arm work. You will feel like a million bucks if you conquer pull-ups.

No problem I’m working on the flexed arm hang too. At first I couldn’t do it at all but am now at 18 seconds. That’s the hardest part for me too and I’ve been trying to do a pull up but I don’t think I’ll be able to get one before I test. I’ll keep trying and If I get an appointment will definitely work hard to get one before Iday :)

I have been working on both and do have a pull up bar at home. I have been using a band to help with the pull ups as well. I am working on both just in case when the time comes I still cannot preform a pull up. Thank you for your feed back I really appreciate it!

Pull ups are definitely the hardest part for me as well. I am so close to one and it’s so annoying when I can not complete it. Hopefully we’ll both be able to improve and get appointed.

Average FAH according to USNA instruction packet (you can Google it) is 20 seconds. I’m guessing it’s the same at USAFA. So you’re below average there. And as others have said, one pull-up is worth more than a FAH that lasts forever. It’s worth the work to get just one.

Did you have to record anything for the CFA for USAFA? I am unsure if I need to record myself doing the push-ups and pull-ups

Those scores aren't bad - below are the averages and it looks like you hit them for 3 events, just barely missed it for sit-ups, and are a little under for push-ups and FAH/Pull-ups. I feel your pain on the flexed arm hang/pull-ups. I worked and worked at it and for some reason just could not seem to do a pull-up. I could FAH for over a minute easy, but still couldn't do a pull-up when I took my CFA. The most I ever got at USAFA even when I was lifting regularly for tennis and working on it was 2. I'd recommend finding a program that is designed to get you to your first pull-up and follow it. Also work on your push-ups, that is the other area where you are noticeably below the averages and it should be relatively easy to get that number up with a good workout plan
