I'm currently a junior and I've wanted to go to VMI for years now, could you guys help me out with any weaknesses I could iron out in an application? Also what are the chances of me getting an appointment?

1310 SAT, 4.22 GPA W, 3.87 UW
Lifeguarded for three years
Varsity Track/ Cross Country for two years
Marching Band for 3 years, drum captain for one year and I was made a drum major for next year
I'm a marathon runner, I've ran 2 marathons and plan to continue
I live in Virginia
I've participated in world class drum corps camps and auditioned for Jersey Surf Drum Corps
I plan on getting recommendations from my lifeguard manager, my band director, and my counselor.

Thanks so much guys!

Make a visit to VMI for an open house/ interview with admissions. Also, complete the "optional" personal statement. Don't have enough knowledge to speak on your highschool stats but I know from experience the open house/ interview are big not only to admissions but also to personally see if VMI is the place for you.

VMI offers a class profile online. If your scores arent perfect there's room (and time) for improvement.

I have been accepted to the class of 2024 with academic stats lower by a considerable margin. Although I attend a military boarding high school which provided me some unique leadership opportunities. I am confident that you will get accepted.
