Changes coming in ROTC

Yes, it is Army. It says so right in the article and also refers to Cadet Command at Ft. Knox, KY.

Seems like overall a good idea to me. Just trying to put ROTC programs where students are gravitating. If more kids are going to school in the South, and the Army needs more officers, then you have to be where your potential recruits are.

Honestly, the status of each ROTC program should probably be reevaluated at least once every 10 years and adjustments made as needed.
 
Not unlike a corporate restructuring or rightsizing. Resources being redeployed to where they're needed most and generate the best results. Very difficult for those being downsized or eliminated, so these decisions are not made lightly. It's leadership's role to ensure that the total organization's goals are being met as effectively and efficiently as possible.
