Hello All,

Applied to Summer Seminar 12/22 after 2nd round of SAT's arrived. Have not heard anything yet, but expect they were out on holiday.

Should I check in with my ALO with SAT's & resume? We chatted briefly, but otherwise he has no specifics on my application.

I may have waited too late for Summer application. I knew I improved my scores significantly in the Dec testing to 690/700/650, so waited until I had them to apply.

Also just received Fall semester grades (3.8 unweighted, 4.3 official, lot's of honors/magnet at a very competitive magnet HS.) Should I try to send admissions a transcript?

Any input welcome!

Thanks,

Lance

You may be able to still update this online if your application hasn't been processed yet. My son just got his ACT scores and was able to add them into the application. If it has been processed, it should show who your counselor is. I know last year, my older son faxed some info over to her after his his been processed (I think PSAT scores and updated transcript). This might be the easier route to take. If you can do it online and still want to send a transcript, it can't hurt.

Last year no one got any information about acceptance until about the third week of January. I'm sure you'll see it first here when people start to. Incidentally, neither of my sons had any contact with an ALO until later in the process. I know some areas are different, and some even require interviews, but I think in most cases you don't interview with your ALO until your actual application window some time after August. My son just kept in touch with him by email throughout the process. It couldn't hurt to send him a copy of your new grades/scores and just include your phone number in case he wants to talk to you.

Personally, I don't think you're too late at all. My guess is that none of them have actually been processed yet, and my son knows many kids who applied last year near the deadline the end of February and still got in. If you're qualified, you'll likely get in no matter when you apply, but the choice of sessions may be limited if you apply really late.

Good luck!

I applied the day that the app came out, and haven't heard anything (website still shows "not processed"). I wouldn't plan on hearing anything until atleast the end of January. Like marciemi said, you'll be able to tell on these forums when the letters come out...

Go ahead and update your app on the website. I'm almost positive there is an option to edit the resume (but not 100% sure). If your GPA was a 3.8 before, don't bother changing anything...they aren't looking for a specific semester's grades.

Good Luck!

Hey all!

First: YOU HAVE NOT WAITED TOO LONG!

Nothing has been done yet...so don't worry/fret/be concerned.

The selection process will be starting soon...so if you have ANYTHING to update, let USAFA/ALO know ASAP!

Good luck all!

When I applied last year, I didn't hear back from the Academy until at least late January, maybe even early February. I can't remember when I had submitted my app, but I still got in  so don't worry!
