Clarification on USAFA Application Deadline (Nov 15)

Hi everyone,

I’m finishing up some final edits on my USAFA application, and while I understand the due date is November 15, I’m unclear on the time of day the application is actually due. I’ve looked through the Instructions to Candidates booklet, checked the USAFA admissions website, and searched around online, but I can’t find a specific answer on whether the deadline is 11:59 PM on November 14 or on the 15th.

Has anyone here faced this question before? I want to make sure I submit everything on time, so any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Your best chance is to just get it turned in tonight before midnight. I wouldn’t assume anything about the exact timing of the deadline. If you truly want this, then stay up an extra few hours and get it submitted! Unless it’s letters of recommendation, I think it would be pretty doable to get the last minute edits done if you have been organizing your application for a few months now. Best of luck!

Curious about the November 15th deadline. My son's application portal says Nov 30 application deadline. Your screenshot shows Nov 15th, so I assume there are different submission deadlines for different groups? Are the groups predefined? or do they just have different dates and you are randomly assigned to a deadline group based on when you open your application?

It depends on when you submitted your preliminary application. I submitted mine right away, which is why I and the OP have the November 15th deadline. The later you submit your preliminary application, the later your deadline will be.

Mine was Nov 15th and now 30th but was completed last week around the time it was changed.

Thank you for the reminder; I’m well aware of that standard. Growing up with family in various branches of the military, I was raised with the motto, "If you're not early, you're late." I simply wanted to clarify because I’m striving to make these essays as strong as possible. In my view, they play a crucial role in showing the academy who I am as a person, so I’m focused on refining them to their best.

Thanks. We're all done anyway (with exception of a retake on the cfa) sobI suppose it doesn't matter, but the Nov 15th date gave us a bit of a heart attack! thought maybe we were missing something. Thanks!

OP take this advice truly. I made my mistake last year waiting until the last minute to take the CFA. I got screwed and had to take it with bronchitis. Admissions couldn’t help me cause it was my own fault. Early is on time, on time is late. There’s only so much better your application can get in the few days leading up to the deadline.
