Class of 2015 - Mailbox Stalkers Club

I filled out my PCQ last year before the end of March, and I had everything I needed in by the end of August, excluding the nomination. My mail always comes around 3 to my house and my online status hasn't changed. I've been waiting so long, and I have really nice offer at the University of Iowa as a back up plan. I'm just to the point where I want to know! I hope I don't need to wait much longer!

Nothin...Absolutely nothing! No status change... no TWE....No BFE....We are in NJ and nothin! Nothing from AFA and wait list for West Point but from what I have heard today...no one is getting off the wait list! So why even have one? So sadddddddd I need to take something. I have been calling my DS who is on Spring break from his senior year to go and get the mail every 20 min. until it actually comes!

Nothing in south Texas. Silver lining to stalking - losing weight stressing over what may be. The thought of comfort food makes me want to puke. But I am not willing to hear over the phone QNS. No change in portal either. Sigh.

Well... I didn't get accepted to the Air Force Academy this year... but God always has a reason. Talked to the USAFA Admissions Counselor, and he told me what I need to work on. Next year, I will be better prepared!!!

Congratulations to everyone who recieved their appointment so far! Every single one of you deserves it, and will be great additions to the United States Air Force!

I (hopefully) will just be one year behind. :thumb:

And to everyone else who got and will get the bad news, dont give up! Stay focused on your goals!

Good luck to you chief! I think it would be good to keep active in this forum. There are lots of people who can help you work your way forward!

After reading other MB stalkers posts today I checked the online portal.........
DS's Online Status changed to appointment offered! Right ON!:thumb: Never received a phone call or BFE (yet). We are in Washington State.
Need to think of a way to surprise him with out being too grandstand. His entire varsity baseball team and coaches will be at our house this afternoon but I think that time could be a lil too much. I will have to think about it with DH????
Good luck to everyone still waiting!

I will keep my eye on the forum, and definitely stay involved. If I have any questions, I know where to ask them!

No mail, No BFE, No TWE....couldn't take it anymore. Called admissions and DS falls in the qualified/nominated 2x/no vacancy. She said his letter should go out on Friday. Even though he has a good back-up plan and I believe it was meant to be, my heart is still broken.

Wow, he made that decision quick...he just wants to make sure his parents have to drive across country to see their kids...couldn't have them both in one place!
Seriously though, it was very thoughtful of him to return it so quickly, to enable others a possible appointment.

The boys all say that son #3 will have to go to college somewhere on the West Coast so we can have someone in every time zone! (We're in Central)

I actually really feel bad about him even getting the appointment when I see other people getting TWE's at the same time and just really hope he doesn't keep someone else from getting a slot permanently. We got an email from the West Point RC today (as MALO's) saying that they are NOT planning to fill slots that are declined, which is a shock. Wondering with the TWE's going out at the same time if that's the case here too.

Son #2 was considering AF and if he'd gotten the appointment a couple months earlier, I think son #1 would have really pushed to get him to come visit and try to convince him. But I'm particularly surprised because he is NOT Triple-Q'd. We're still waiting on Dodmerb which can't be resolved until May per them. USNA had told him since he had the appointment already that they'd wait, but all communication with AF had kind of indicated he was out of luck. Incidentally, the appointment did say "pending medical clearance". So I think he'd written AF off a long time ago as even a possibility. Hence the quick decision.

No BFE, no TWE, tried to call the Admissions counselor and no answer. So we live to Mailbox Stalk another day

Congratulations to all who got the BFE or news of an appointment today! I was hoping we'd hear from vamom. Personally, I'm picturing a crowd gathering on her street from her woops of joy at the mailbox, which then turns into a rip roaring block party! At least thats what I'm praying for! Best of luck to all that are still waiting!!!

Stalked Mail, got my BFE!!!

Congratulations to everyone who got their letter and fingers crossed for the rest!

Nothing today either. As aggravating as it is to me and DS, his mother is the one who is in the most amount of turmoil over it. We have a busy schedule planned for the summer, but are holding off on doing anything until we know what is going on. DS has a backup that he is looking forward to in case he gets a TWE. DW is a planning obsessive whereas I am the one who is fluid and can make things work.

Talked with my admissions counselor, and he said all who are waiting now will probably be receiving a "qualified, but no vacancy" letter. He did not tell me exactly that I would get a TWE, but he said to make sure to line my Plan B up. Any who are still waiting can call admissions for an update on their status.

Noooooooooo!

Well... I finally have a decision!

I've stalked the mailbox since the dawn of time, but nothing. So I made the phone call like a few others. No answer, I called again about an hour later (2:00 PM CST today, Tuesday) and my counselor picked up.

He said that I was "qualified, no vacancy." I asked him if there is any possibility of an appointment at a later date these next few weeks, he said no. I asked him about Prep school and he told me my academic scores were too high. And he told me that I was not "flagged" for Falcon Scholarships. Not too sure what "flagged" means, but he reminded me that I "won't be getting an appointment for this class." Although he told me that I was very competitive, the shrink in class size was one that pushed me over the edge.

He told me that I need to apply next year and I should take (in college): Differential Calculus, Physics, Freshman English Composition, and Western Civ. and be sure to make straight A's.

Also, because I was medically denied to USMA just a day after submitting my MoC nomination application, I couldn't change the nomination request to USAFA, and I was not even interviewed for MoC. I had only a Presidential and Vice Presidential nomination; but both of these are "very competitive," he said. And I, apparently, did not get the appointment off of these limited and competitive nominations.

Here's my profile for those of you that would like to get an idea:

That's me in a 5 minute nutshell. A big CONGRATS to all who got in, and I feel your pain for those who have not. And I'm not too sure if I'm going to apply for next year. But if I do, I sure as heck need to get started!!!

I'm in FL District 2, online status has not changed. Now I'll stalk the mailbox for a TWE??? Not...

Oh boy, WShilton's post hit a chord with me. What an amazing resume! Just proves how heartbreaking it is for families and how difficult it is for admissions to not offer Appointments to these outstanding and HARD WORKING kids. My heart goes out to you, LodgeChief and K05791. Note to K05791-you sound so similar to me and yesterday when my son learned news of "qualified but no room". WShilton-I understand your dilemma-your stats may be too high to be offered prep or Falcon. Son in same spot.

Congrats to Lee2015, NyxJon93, Jetset15 and Araforce! Keep on "keeping on"!!!
