Congrats! Now chill and enjoy filling out tons of paperwork! Seriously - take good measure of the next 2 months. It will go fast and things will ratchet up from there (BCT, Doolie year, Acceptance). Wish you and every member of the Class of 2015 the best!

Thank you all. Now I'm just nervous, with it being so close to May 1st, about the Academy getting my response in time. I am going to sit there and make them postmark it in front of me. As it is, I am resisting the temptation to overnight the darn thing. After waiting this long, I do not want to screw this up :)
 
I'd call on Monday and tell them that you intend on accepting the appointment and are unsure if sending it out would make it in time. Send it out on Monday, yes, but give them the heads up. Also, gratz man!

I know what you mean. After my son filled out the form, I must have read it 10 times to make sure he did not mis-fill something. Quite nerve wracking...:wink:
 
NKP, if you don't mind me asking, has your nomination status in your online profile changed from none to something else? Thanks.

No, it has not yet. So far it has also not changed to reflect my apppointment either. It still reads Application Status: Complete, Nomination: None. I'm sending in my acceptance form tomorrow, so hopefully in the next few weeks I'll see a change to Appointment Offered, and then Appointment Accepted. I'd really love to know where my nomination came from, but probably never will :thumbdown:

Assuming you attend USAFA, you should be able to. I know my son somehow can view it on the online database because he had gotten two nominations (and was actually called about his appointment by both) so was curious but this year had told me he could see somewhere online who he was assigned to. May not be the case if it's a Supe's nom (or whatever the AF version of that is) but you may be able to find out next year!

Are you a recruited athlete? If the academy wants you they will find you a nomination.
 
I am not a recruited athlete whatsoever. I recieved an LOA back around Christmas time, but I'm sure there are many who recieved LOA's, so I don't know if that would be it.

I think there is a little confusion in regard to LOA. Athletics woud be letter of assurance the other is an appointment which some confuse with LOA. Correct me if I am wrong but I son't think so.

That is incorrect. An LOA (Letter of Assurance) is given to any candidate that the USAFA feels is a high priority recruit. It does not necessarily have to be for athletics.

Our son received an LOA, but was not recruited for athletics.

We just got a BFE today for my DS's Falcon Foundation scholarship!!! :shake::shake::yllol::shake::yllol::yllol:

We are so ecstatic about the news!!! :smile:
We stopped our mailbox stalking for a moment after we got the TWE in early April. DS got all excited about his Plan B school and sent in his SIR last night to make sure he had a slot by their deadline of May 1st.

DS's first choice is to go to Northwestern Prep as we live in Southern California.

I hope we hear more news about the Falcon Foundation scholarships and Preppies! My best to all here! :thumb:
