No no, you still have the chance of Prep school and or the falcon foundation I believe. Other than that, maybe the status change is a bit late :frown:

Ehhhh.... I was really aiming for Academy... That's ok i guess... And no, it's definitely not late... This is the military we're talking about

They will also offer a very very small number of appointments through until mid April. Nothing to plan on though. Time for plan B. :thumb:

IMHO prep school is a gift. The people who have this option come to the Academy better prepared academically, militarily, and emotionally. If you play a sport, the extra year of development is HUGE. Many of the athletes who compete at the D-1 level are older and the extra year of development can make a difference in the trajectory of your playing career. While it might be disappointing to some not to be admitted directly from high school, a year of prep can set you up for greater success once you are at the academy. BTW - assume nothing. The process of offering appointments does get slower after March, but it continues through April as people decline appointments or are otherwise not able to meet the obligations of their appointments. portals are updated!

I just recieved a notification of my appointment from my online portal. My status still hasnt changed but there is an email on the portal saying I have an appointment. What a long process!!! I'm so glad this wait is over. Check your portals everyone!!

Yup, and my DS is going to USNA, but I've been on here long enough to want to know how the "regulars" turn out. And I did tell you on a PM that we need to start a "MB Stalkers Anonymous" addiction support and recovery progam. :shake:
 
Does anyone know if the portal will change to QNV or does it just remain as candidate and complete?
 
Was everyone with a portal change nominated by an MOC? I've only have the presidential and am still labeled candidate.

2016USAFA--you wrote "No portal change... I failed." That is NOT true. You did NOT fail. You only would have failed had you not tried. Everyone single one of the candidates who has made it this far is amazing and truly deserving of an appointment. You should be very proud of yourself. You WILL go places in life and you will make a difference in this world. The first thing I told my DS when his status didn't change was that I was disappointed for him, not in him. I am very proud of him. Who would have thought when he started this process early last year that he would have made it this far? Don't give up hope either....I know how hard it is not to--we are in the same boat as you. But most importantly, remember, you did NOT fail!!!

My goal was to be appointed into USAFA... Unfortunately, my goal was not to have my page say "candidate". If it was, I could say I succeeded, but alas... :wink:
