Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

Got a call from General Kelley at the Falcon Foundation today. During our conversation he said:
"No worries, you guys (Falcons) will probably know in late April...maybe early May. Let's hope April! Have patience, this is the Air Force! In other news, have you been running?" :shake:

So, another day, SMNE. :rolleyes:
But a huge congratulations to those who received appointments this week!!

Falcons have to wait until LATE April? thats an awfully long time.. arent you guys guaranteed an appointment?
 
Question -

If your MOC already has an appointee charged (a recruited athlete that signed in Feb.) - does that mean that all other nominees from his slate are in the National Pool?

If you are now considered in the National Pool - will the MOC still get notification first? So a phone call "might" happen or it goes straight to BFE? Just curious - as I am hopeful, but realistic... however, that being said - it hasn't stopped me from stalking DS's phone, email, and portal. Or should I just stick with the mailbox?

The way I understand it-

If you are positive that the recruited athlete was appointed under that MOCs nomination, then DS and the rest of the nominees will be put on the NWL unless they have another nomination. But remember that each MOC can have a maximum of 5 people in the academy at one time, so don't give up hope.

As far as the notifications go, I couldn't say. I think that would be something that varies between different MOCs
 
USAFA Appointee Class of 2016

DD received her 2016 appointment telephone call from US Senator this afternoon. We are excited for our DD. Told package information is on the way. As well, our son is US Coast Guard Academy Cadet in New London. Good luck to all on your USAFA journey.

Yes I am positive the appointee was charged to MOC - the MOC Academy Rep said "sometimes they get more than one" and not to give up hope, since in her words he is "highly competitive". I do believe if my MOC got notification, he would call. Just unsure if my MOC will get notification or not. :confused:

Congratulations to all who have heard from their MOC. If you are still waiting to hear something, just remember not all MOC's contact their nominees. My DS never heard from the MOC, he just received the BFE. What a wonderful surprise in the mailbox!!! So, my suggestion is to keep stalking the mailbox!! GOOD LUCK!!!

Can't say with any certainty, however with my son, his coach called him. With DD, she got her appointment very late and we found out from her USAFA counselor on May 2nd. If you are hoping the President calls, not sure that is going to happen:shake:. It will likely just be the BFE showing up in the mail. Both kids did receive letters from their MOC congratulating them on appointments but these showed up after the BFE, by several months.

All these people are getting calls from their MOC, BFEs in the mail, updates on their candidate portal, and even emails...well, I gotta fortune cookie saying "good news is coming in the mail" :yllol:

What could be the reason for the current Falcons to wait untill late April early May?
 
No more stalking

My DD got two calls from her MOC (Congressman and Senator) congratulating her on an appointment today.

I have been reading the forum for months and enjoyed reading all the stories and helpful advice. You are a great group of posters.

This has been quite an emotional ride - WOW.

Though I am beginning to realize that today is really a ticket to another (4 year) roller coaster ride.

How much leverage does being bluechipped give you? I have been bluechipped but I know it is my test scores that are weighing me down.... just wondering...

Based on the email that was forwarded to me today about DS's forthcoming appointment/BFE it indicated that the nominating source for which the appointment will be charged won't be determined until this class arrives at the Air Force Academy. Don't know if this is the case for all appointments or a portion of the appointments. Gut feeling tells me not to worry so much about the number of appointments coming from your CD, because you still might have a chance.

BTW, the email was confirmed tonight by a call from our MOC to DS's cell phone. MOC's office found out that DS was leaving in the morning for a trip to Europe and made the call tonight.

DW has been crying all afternoon and is not ready for this new adventure.
