Class of 2016-Mailbox Stalkers Club

Correct. There is no separate application. Falcon scholarship awardees are selected out of the pool of candidates that are qualified but did not receive an appointment.

Thanks for the responses -- but just to clarify, I am asking if any Falcon Foundation scholarship recipients who are about to finish up their prep year have gotten a response yet about being accepted into the academy.

DS finally came home from school... gave him the TWE. He's very thankful for his Plan B. I asked him if he planned on re-applying he said with enthusiasm "ABSOLUTELY".

And a year from now, if he is getting great grades, has a strong circle of friends, and loves his life at Plan B, none of this will matter. It has happened to many others on this forum, and guess what? Four years later people will be calling him Lt. same as those who attended the academy. Best Wishes!

Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout !!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to your DS!!!!! :jump1::jump1::jump1:

Wishing him much success with his Plan B and if he chooses to continue with the USAFA reapplication process, we will be routing for him all the way.

Here's to your wonderful DS :beer1:

Maybe someone'll catch on...

"Just a small town girl..."

Did this on Facebook once and it worked,

All y'all (Yes that's a phrase in Tx)

THANK YOU!!!

DS already signed up for the two upcoming SAT's and the ACT. LOL - Let the process begin...

PS.
(Now if only we could keep him from moving 28 hours away... only to have him turn around to move back across the country next year! - LOL)

My DS also attended NWP this fall.

No, Falcons from this year have not yet received their USAFA appointments for the class of 2016. Expected date to hear is after April 25.

What an awesome kid! He will go far no matter what he does with that attitude!

No news is good news so far in WI. No calls, no TWE, no portal status change. Just waiting and thankful for that! Daughter is at UW Madison today visiting AFROTC unit for plan B possibility. One way or the other she will accomplish her goal. Very proud of her!

Thanks you 2. I now have a (unwanted) song playing in my head!!!

But it's Journey. How could it be unwanted? I keep asking my DD the same question. She isn't a fan of 80's on 8 satellite radio either.

I got a TWE today after coming home from track. I'm very disappointed, but the hardest part for me now is telling everyone who has been so supportive throughout the entire process. I know that no one thinks any less of me for not getting in, but it is hard to not have much to show after so much time and effort. I'm glad that I had a solid plan B and am considering reapplying for next year. Big bummer but as someone mentioned earlier, resilience is key!

You made it this far!! [Idk if I should put it like this] But that's a lot further than some people will get. And that's the spirit (on the reapplying part):thumb:! Hope to see you next year:thumb:!!

Received the dreaded TWE today here in Texas. Still, USNA 2016!

Congrats on USNA!

It's official. I got the TWE. Here's to hoping for prep school! If not, I've got college sorted out already. :thumb: Good luck to those that were waitlisted!
