Class of 2020 USNA Appointment Thread

Hello after accepting appointment, DS was given tattoo, police record, proof of citizenship forms. For police record, we lived in many countries & states, do USNA just want one police check from student's current county of residence?? Do most parents submit original birth certificate?? I would think noterized copy would be safer?? Thank you, might be asking silly questions but this is our first time;)

We sent in 2 police report forms, 1 from the city we live in and 1 from the city that has jurisdiction of high school. We sent the original birth certificate with a stamped return envelope. The forms have shown up received on the portal. I felt that DS has a valid passport so if birth certificate gets lost can always request another one. Hope this helps!!

I understand that you need a police report from every jurisdiction in which you have lived. Can someone confirm that? We got state and county when my second class mid got his appointment and are doing the same for midsib who got appointment in January.

And, yes, the police report thing can be burdensome from what I have been told by others.

Every place you have lived?? From what age? My son lived in 3 countries? 5 states 10 different cities?? I only requested our current township, I am confused:(

Blessed, many jurisdictions won't allow notarization of copies of birth certificates (including Virginia). We requested a duplicate copy from the state and sent that in, knowing we might not see it again. But if your area will allow notarization then that's probably easiest.

Sister had an LOA for about two weeks, but was waiting on her medical waiver to get approved. It was approved and now no more LOA. She received an email and her portal changed to an offer of APPOINTMENT! As a brother who is almost 18 years older than her, I couldn't be more proud. We are from Louisiana and had Presidental and Congressional nominations.

What part of Louisiana? We are form St Bernard parish and my daughter got an appointment too.
 
Hi all the police record is stressing me out, we got police check from our home & school township police, but from year 2002-2012 he lived in 3 different countries in 7 different foreign cities, what do others do who lived in many cities/countries all over the world???

@Blessedmom - You might want to just call the admissions office and ask them directly rather than stressing. I spoke to them a few years back when we were getting this done for DS and they were very helpful. Good luck!
