Salty. Don't worry about loa. Just a few have that and it's not an indication of your ds/dd.. Most folks receive appointments now through April. Just keep up the fight for the USMMA. It is a long wait.

Go to the Community Information area here on SAF to find The Acronym List.

LOA = Letter of Assurance. The SA issues a conditional letter of assurance, indicating an offer of appointment will be made if a certain condition(s) are met, such as a nom or clearing DODMERB.

They are relatively rare, and the SAs use them in varying ways with no way of predicting who will get them. The majority of appointees do not have them.

Don’t spend any time thinking about it. If your DS or DD gets one, great. If not, there is no reason to give it a second thought.

FYI out there to any ARIZONA 2023 candidates or appointees: the Arizona USMMA Parents Association is holding the annual Appointee and Candidate meeting and luncheon on February 2, 2019 in the Phoenix area. I haven't seen any Arizona appointees yet on the list, but there may be some out there who have received nominations as well as completed their application and on Hold status, who should absolutely come to the meeting. We will have field representatives there and will answer questions and explain the process as well as talk about preparation, Indoc and all sorts of hot topics. If anyone would like more details, please message me or post a comment and I'll get you the details. We hope to see a good turnout of AZ plebes in the Class of 2023!

It varies for each person. My son's letter was dated January 18th but some get theirs sooner and some later.
