Long time stalker, first time poster.
DS, a high school senior, has applied for AROTC scholarship. Paperwork completed. From reading past posts, he seems to be within the ballpark for test scores, EC's, leadership experience, etc. to have a chance for a scholarship. He is not presumptuous enough to think he's a shoe-in (nor am I). However, we have a situation I have not been able to find an answer to.
In his junior year in high school he earned 12 hours of college credit. This year, he will take an additional 18 hours and will have earned 30 hours of work by the time he graduates. However, he is taking an honors pre-calculus course at a larger university, which is a duplicate course of a pre-calculus course he took at a local community college he took last year. So in reality he will have 27 hours of transferable college credit when he graduates.
I have read where a high school four year scholarship winner must have four years of college work left to do in order to receive a four year scholarship. However, even though I have asked several "official people" affiliated with the AROTC program, I have not been able to find out if he has 27 hours of transferable college credit, will AROTC consider that he has four years of college work left and be eligible to receive the scholarship.
Thanks for reading my rambling question. I look forward to hearing what the opinions of the experts might be.
