Last week, I was accepted to attend CVW in two months (I am a Junior.) Can this invite help forecast an invite to NASS? Thanks!

CVW and NASS are completely different and getting one doesn’t mean you will get another.

This spring, it is either NASS or CVW. Folks who've already accepted a March/April CVW and are subsequently accepted to NASS will be asked which one they want to attend -- they can choose -- but it can't be both. USNA Admissions will call those candidates regarding the choice. The reason for this is that USNA wants to free up CVW space for those who are not accepted to NASS.

It may be possible for those who attended NASS to do a fall CVW -- no word on that yet.

Wait, I am a junior and I was invited to and will be attending the February CVW next week. I applied to NASS in January, but haven't heard back on acceptance yet. Since I'm already going to go the CVW, does that mean I should expect to be rejected from NASS?

I don’t have knowledge regarding this, but the statement from usna1985 was that ‘candidates in a March/April CVW will be asked to choose’. Yours is in February so I would say no, you won’t have to choose. And you wouldn’t be precluded from attending summer seminar,

Remember NASS has a variety of acceptance factors. And it’s all self reported data. Don’t read into acceptance or denial as an indicator to anything. 1985 posted the most recent info given out. If you get in this spot, think about what works best for you. There are tons of threads on here about NASS and CVWs. They cover the differences, pros and cons, etc. What is right for one person, might not be for the other.

An observation only is that more juniors are being offered CVW’s. I wonder if this creates the situation @usna1985 discussed?

I think it’s USNA trying to maximize the exposure to potential candidates.
