Does receiving 2 noms vs 1 make a big impact on your chance of acceptance?

DS had a JROTC nom and applied for MOC noms because they only take 20 or so JROTC noms per year. Having a MOC nom allows him to be chosen from a bigger pool. Recvd. an appointment with just the JROTC nom although he did get another nom a week later.

my dd is currently at USAFA and I will say that a good number of cadets entering with her had more than 1 nomination. She had congressional, senatorial, vice presidential, and nominations. You only need 1 to be accepted, but the admissions committee with play around with your nominations depending on where the openings are. For example, if your Senator has a full slate already, they can use a cadet’s congressional, presidential, or vice presidential to give acceptance. It gives admissions more leeway if the cadet has more than 1.

Unfortunately, our senators/congressman do talk to each other to make sure each qualified candidate will only receive one nomination to the first choice of her/his SA's. So my DS does have such a luxury of 2 noms.......
Same in my DS district. He got MOC then asked not to do interview w Senator as he had already been nominated by MOC
