Do all 10 kids on the slate need to be 3Q before appointments made?

I suspect this is "busy season" for admissions. And the LOA being the receipt of a nomination puts your DS right into the busiest time. So I bet you receive good news any day now! Another thing is that USNA typically notifies the MOC about a week before they roll over in the portal. Some MOC's notify their candidates, some don't (ours didn't...). So one could have the offer without knowing it yet for a time. I'm watching for 'ya!!
You are definitely a good luck charm! My wife and I received a phone call this morning to report to the HS guidance dept if at all possible for a 'meeting.' We were all in the conference room to hear our son receive his appointment offer by our congressman. It's a great day!
@brewmeist
That is so cool the school called you to come in!! I would have loved that. The guidance counselor did take pictures of my DD getting the MOC call. Then DD called me and in had 2 seconds to tell me she got in and was leaving to drive to sport practice. I’m happy she did that but I cannot imagine how incredible it was to listen to your DS. Details please!!! I can live vicariously.

so what happens if only 1 person from a congressional district applies? if they need no waiver and CFA/grades are decent then they are automatically in?
If they are 3Q that one person will get an appointment 99.9% of the time.

I believe this to be true only if candidate has LOA.

I know of several candidates from previous years now that met all the qualifications (perceived 3Q with nom) but did not get offered an appointment. The parent group of current mids is full of stories of their DS or D reapplying. It’s the whole candidate score, WCS, that is in play. A nomination is necessary to receive the appointment, but appointment is not guaranteed if 3Q unless candidate has LOA.

Ive also now heard of current mids having nom from a different state. So if your state MOC doesn’t have any candidates, a candidate from a different state can be charged to that MOC slate.

This is not first hand knowledge. Only what Ive read on here and parent page on other social media.

It was a nice experience for him. I was more concerned with him saying "Um" and "Yeah" too many times, but he did fine. They spoke together for a few minutes. It was nice to see that the congressman had a true interest. The one thing I remember is that I was in there with him just as a spectator. I wasn't whispering in his ear what to say. These 'kids' grow up too fast.
