Drivers license

Did I read somewhere that midshipmen are required to have a driver's license?
I don't see why you wouldn't. Sometimes the mids drive vans, the EMTs drive the ambulance, etc. not a requirement, but being a college student (adult) entails getting your drivers license.

Just trying to get into the DMV right now is tough. He got an appointment about a week before I day.

Not every family can afford to pay for Drivers Ed. In our state Drivers Ed. is required for a license under age 18 and it is no longer offered through the schools. (Some Plebe Candidates are still under 18 when they report for INDOC.) Private Drivers Ed. costs about $700-$800.

One could get a state ID at DMV (regardless of age I think) to solve the problem of cashing those pesky checks and always using your passport (soon) to fly domestically.

You will need ID for many occasions in your midshipman career. The most common form used is your drivers license.
