Falcon Foundation Scholarship Question

Sounds like an awesome deal, am considering either R-MA or NWP for now
I'm a current FFS at MMI in Alabama, we also had a 100% acceptance rate for our Falcons here. One major difference between NWP and MMI as others mentioned is that we are in college classes both semesters. USAFA laid out what classes we need to take. At MMI you are in a military school and wear a uniform every day. The SAP(Service Academy Prep) program here has about 100 cadets between all academies, and we have sponsored cadets from all 5 academies. The school itself also has an Army ROTC battalion so you get to interact with a lot of different groups. We have 3 early morning PT sessions a week, and it got us more than in shape for the CFA. There are excellent opportunities for cadets to enter leadership positions within the Corps of Cadets here which really helps prepare for an academy in my opinion. We also have a flying club that allows cadets to earn flight hours while going to school here. I've heard nothing but great things about all the prep schools but just wanted to bring light to MMI. LTC Bowen runs the SAP program here and giving him a call can also give a lot more information into the program.

But do you remember the dictionary definition of "echelon?"

Oh don't worry if my teammates haven't figured out who I am the thing I'm actually known for was " I SPEAK WITH INTEGRITY SIR" man it's amazing how quickly everyone went quiet on that one and the amount memes was top tear. Heads up watch your tone at any point .......I should have earned more pushups that day 🤣.

Hello, I've recently been notified that I have received a Falcon Foundation scholarship and am a little confused. I did some research and what I have found says that the scholarships are only given to those that USAFA have interest in but still need to improve on their academics. This makes no sense as I have a 33 ACT and a 4.12 GPA. Any ideas on why this happened? Other than that, I am very happy to have received something other than a rejection letter and would like to learn more about my options. Also, if I have the option of choice, which prep school is the most recommended?
Can I ask how you were notified about your falcon scholarship? Congrats- that’s amazing!

Pretty sure every notification is via portal. From what I have seen in this forum, it is possible you may be rejected before being offered a Falcon scholarship.

Just received a Falcon Foundation Scholarship offer and am excited to say I am attending NWP this next semester. Cannot wait! All the hard work and waiting has paid off.
Just curious, did the choices for FFS show up in your portal? My portal does not have the list...or at least yet?

Yes they all showed up. There is a liked in the middle of the acceptance letter that lets you accept or deny the offer. After you accept the offer it gives you the list of choices.

Hello, I just was notified via portal of FFS and the letter mentions the admissions are on 1st come 1st serve basis. Not sure where to start the process. Any insights?
All depends are what you are looking for in a prep experience. I went to NWP in 2021 and loved it. I started out wondering what a FFS was and what it meant. The more I learned the more I got excited. I had it narrowed down to NMI and NWP and both spoke to me anytime I called or emailed with questions and both got me in touch with other FFS cadets already at USAFA who answered questions and shared experiences. There are some amazing NWP videos on YouTube for a look at life there by the various classes. The 2018, 2019, and 2021 videos are seriously good.

2021 NWP
2019 NWP
2018 NWP

Personally I was called by my congressman but if yours doesn't then you'll see it in your portal eventually

At the bottom of your acceptance letter there's a FF fact sheet; use the info on that to contact all of the schools and ask around to see what fits you and your needs best

Don’t forget to look into NMMI when checking out where to use your Falcon Foundation scholarship. I’ve heard nothing but good things about the program. And, it has its own golf course which is a plus for Air Force candidates.

Of course! Feel free to PM for any more questions or info on MMI.

Yep that pretty much sums up the conversation I just had with my family. I also applied to USNA and if I get an appt there I'm still strongly considering turning that down for the falcon scholarship. I think a year of prep is good for just about anyone and I can't wait for my time. For now I'm considering either R-MA or NWP as those are the only two I've seen positive info about. Thanks for the good luck wishes
If you haven’t already, please call 1-800-367-8839. NWP is open for enrollment in the Class of 2022. In 2021 we had 30 Falcons.

I called the other day and I talked to Mrs. Durbeck for a while about NWP. I accepted my offer soon after and chose NWP. Can't wait for this fall!
