The results 1st Army ROTC Scholarship Board are still delayed. This Friday at the earliest, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
Do you know what their hold up is? Are they still experiencing technical difficulties? Server problems? I hope the candidates can be told before the weekend. Thanks for the update.

Imagine what the Army is doing by delaying these results is presenting a surprise scenario and tracking your response to pressure and uncertainty - if this was the case, how are you presenting yourself - needy, insecure, inpatient? Or, composed, cool under pressure? The wait is torture as I recall, but to be honest as others noted, that's military life - I grew up in a military house and now 2.5 years into this as a ROTC parent, waiting until the branch is ready to share details is part of business as usual. Orders come last minute, Decisions come when they come. And you wait... and wait some more....

In one of my son's HS ROTC interviews (AFROTC) the interviewer provided this stress - I believe as a test when he presented a curveball to my DS, challenging him on a detail in his application, implying DS likely exaggerated an accomplishment because globally so few people do at age 16 a feat my son had just done (aviation milestones in number of hours flown and FAA licenses earned plus a "top gun" trophy for a national competition beating out commercial pilots). DS stayed calm, affirmed the details were factual, politely but firmly advised he doesn't need to embellish and he's just presenting his authentic self. He also in a polite way told the interviewer he can decide to recruit him or reject him but his integrity isn't wavering and he'd rather receive the opportunity to train to serve or be rejected on what he is - and it's that simple. That same day he sent supporting documentation and a brief note. He received a scholarship a couple weeks later. The PAS came out and shook my hand and congratulated me on having a son with such strong character and potential. I think DS's attitude and answer were catalysts for a very positive interview outcome and solidified his getting an offer. All, I think your attitude likewise paints pictures and if you're desiring to be an officer, just be aware you're "on" most of the time now.

It's funny but above which took a total of 2 minutes is one of the proudest moments I've had for my now young adult. More than the eagle scout, more than the Dean's Lists, more than the 5s on AP exams, etc. I share this as an example that you should carry yourself well in these interviews, and in life / on these boards, at all times - your cadre are forming opinions and your goal should be to learn, excel academically, grow, challenge yourself- attitudes change outcomes.

Good luck to all of you.
