I guess our son didn't receive one. It still says 'boarded' in his portal. Congratulations to everyone that got selected.
Mine also does.DD's portal says "Winner" for AROTC.
I was wrong. They are now official and posted. Not likely to happen.
That sounds fatalistic - Boarded is not rejected - you're still in the running. Boarded / Boarded under consideration at this point just mean you're not yet finalized for an outcome. So hang in there as there are two more boards for Army usually near mid-January 2022 and somewhere near early April 2022. There are more 4 year and 3 year scholarships that will be handed out for Army in those additional boards - so no need to make a decision yet on AF vs A vs NROTC unless there is more than just a "boarded" or "winner" status in your portal. Good luck.I’m still boarded Air Force it is!
Don’t forget that only a small minority of winners are selected on the first board. The vast majority are selected on the 2nd and 3rd boards. He is definitely still in the running. Listen to this man. That's what happened to my son, last year. He had to wait for the results of the 3rd board, to get his scholarship. He is no worse off than anyone who was awarded a scholarship on the first board...and he's neck-deep in his ROTC program, like every other program kid at his university. Truth be told...nobody at the school really cares which board you got the scholarship from, anyway...all they care about is the cadet's willingness to meet and exceed all expectations, upon arrival. Same can be said for the programmers, who are trying to compete for a school-based scholarship, as well. There are people that are listed as boarded now that will be awarded a scholarship after either the 2nd or 3rd board.
Lots of hope left. DS #3 remained "Boarded" after October 2020 board but later won 4-year in January 2021 to his top 3 schools. There is still hope if not selected. It looks like only 187 scholarships were awarded out of 2000+ in total. The cutoff score for 1st board scholarship awards is incredibly high to ensure that scholarships are not over awarded. There are people that are listed as boarded now that will be awarded a scholarship after either the 2nd or 3rd board.
You still have a chance with AROTC.I’m still boarded Air Force it is!
Mine was still boarded after October 2020 boards and won a 3-year in January. It was upgraded to 4-year in April. Nobody give up hope!Lots of hope left. DS #3 remained "Boarded" after October 2020 board but later won 4-year in January 2021 to his top 3 schools.
