Firstie Photos

Also fun fact, the Lucky Bags are all available online. I was able to find images of my grandfather, dad, and cousin. The quality of the paper in the real version is sublime.
I don't think my then plebe wanted it. He saved it and his shoulder boards each year for his mom. He's a good egg.
Didn't know that! That's pretty cool. If you're ever on the Yard, see if you can make it up to the third deck in Nimitz Library. They keep the archives of MIDN records there. I saved all my shoulder boards too. Will make a good addition to a shadow box someday.

Dang good to know. I was just there for 2/C and loved the cafe and staff in Nimitz.

They usually have times in the fall and have make-ups in the spring. It behooves you to get it done early since they are a pain (have to wear Infantry Dress (the official name for the parade uniform... there is a USNA fun fact for you) and you have to wait in long lines. If you are delinquent, they can take some type of punitive action against you, but I forget what it was.

@Heatherg21 They are commonly used as doorstops. A lot of them stay in Bancroft because most don't pick them up on distribution day. The only Lucky Bag most people take is their 1/C one. Firsties get funny write-ups written by their friends, so it is the one edition with some form of personalization. All the underclass ones just have your standard headshot and maybe some extra photos depending on your ECAs, sports, billet, etc.
Our Plebe Summer detailers advised us that they are also great for ‘removing mice and rats’
