What does the fitness test for the NROTC Marine Option program consist of? I have it tomorrow. Sorry if this information has already been posted somewhere!

Marine PFT

Pull-ups
2 minute sit-ups
3 mile run

interesting, that is quite different from the Army PFT:

1 minute situps
1 minute pushups
1 mile run

no pullups at all for Army and no pushups for Marines. I suppose the Marines then must be taught to pull stuff, while soldiers are taught to push stuff  what else could it mean :shake:

It's basically because of the two different branches real physical tests

ie:
APFT (Army)
2-min pushups
2-min sit-ups
2 mile run

PFT (USMC)
Max pullups
2-min sit-ups
3 mile run

As for why each branch is different, you got me. You'd think branches with similar missions, or even the entire military, would have one single standardized physical test.

One of the big differences is that the test given to NROTC Marine Option candidates is the actual test they will take during ROTC and their time in the Marines.

The test for the AROTC is the Presidential Fitness test which is nothing like the actual AFPT they will be taking during ROTC and their time in the ARMY.

The Marine sit up is more of a crunch then a true sit up. Marines have arms crossed on the chest, Army has hands clasped behind the head. Of course a 300 is harder to get in the Marines then it is in the Army, those 20 pull ups are a killer.

Since I am a female I was told I would do the flexed arm hang- ugh:(
How long do most people do that for?

As I recall the flexed arm hang score maxs out at 70 seconds (100 points)
