Life as a Doolie is so much better when the football team is winning! Given the extra "privileges" (like not running/walking on the marble strips) we used to get when the team won, I considered myself lucky to have been a Doolie when USAFA had a Sugar Bowl Team in the fall of 1970. Among the wins that season was a home victory over Standford led by the Heisman Trophy winning QB that year.

So true! I was there during some good years as well and remember watching our win over Notre Dame from my sponsor’s house since it was an away game. So glad my DS gets a similar experience. I keep asking my USMA dh if he is getting nervous for AF-Army yet.

I loved that their QB Zac Larrier was like.... BTW, I can throw!

There were a LOT of "reunion attendees" at the game smiling...we, er, they, remember the "glory days" of "UP the MIDDLE, UP the MIDDLE, PASS, PUNT..." <<<shudder>>>

Records don't matter when it comes to inter Service Academy football games. I remember my son telling me that before the 2012 AF/Army game at USMA, nobody would bet on Army in his company even if you gave 21 points to the underdog (Army). Let the record show that USMA won by almost three touchdowns. So much for pre-game records.

I was also at USAFA (faculty duty) from 1982-1986 and had the opportunity to watch an incredible team each week. Accomplishments included beating Notre Dame in four consecutive years and a Bluebonnet Bowl victory over Texas (24-16). The last game against Notre Dame actually showed USAFA as the favorite.

Bumping this back to the top - 6-0. #22 Ranking! Big game this weekend!

Go Air Force! Beat Navy!
How much is Larrier being out going to hurt Air Forces? My DD is very excited about the potential of seeing a game during FVE.

BTW just some some national hype for this game on the old television….

Game is on CBS this weekend. SHOULD be patriotic!

Go Navy ⚓⚓

As an old Army guy with AF kids, sorry all those mariners among us but Go Air Force, Beat Navy!!! The game will look a lot different with the QB swap but AF still has some top class players. SA games are always a toss up no matter which team is doing the best in the regular season, there's always something special about these ones.

AF QB is hurt, hope he can get back soon. Son said FOX NFL is doing their show from USAFA on Veterans Day Weekend. Me and Howie Long go to the same barber, nice guy.
