Not too shocked by the numbers, but one number confounds me year after year and I am sure I have asked this question before somewhere on this forum.
What exactly is the appeal of medical service corps to draw the large number of first choices. I get down the line the 70H, 70D and 70K specialties are lucrative, but the vast majority of cadets know nothing about them as they are meant for senior captains and beyond.
I can see the appeal for infantry and aviation, just can't see the compelling reason for the mass numbers wanting MS. There really is nothing medical about the job.
Can anyone elaborate? Or Is it really everyone looking for the few Blackhawk MEDEVAC positions?
