Guidance sought

Wow - good to know. your comments did trigger another question about the medical: You mention scheduling a Dr's appointment. My DS has is normal physical for HS Sports scheduled with his Pediatrician in July. Would this count as the required medical - or part of it? Are there specific forms I could obtain to bring or does he have to make an appointment with a specific medical center for these physicals? TIA
For our doc, he was happy to sign that "OK to take PFT test" form, based on a high school sports physical from a few months prior. This is just so that your kid can complete the USMC application screening process (take the PFT and do the interview, usually on the same day). Once your DS opens an application, the extra (maybe about 5 or 6?) forms for Marine Corps are all online and available. Our district POC also sent them via email. This is completely separate from the DODMERB medical screening process. The DODMERB process for ROTC doesn't usually start until after award of a scholarship, and then you go to whatever doc they tell you to.

and if for some reason those forms are not forthcoming in your timeframe, you can message me (not sure how that works on this forum?) and I can forward a pdf file of all the various forms which we were sent (including the doc approval to take the PFT form) ...there is no form #, so it's probably not something you'll find online.

OK, Thank you - is the form needed to be signed by our Doctor so he can take the PFT part of the "5 or 6 extra forms" on the application site?

1) You can update as much as you want after you submit the online portion (my coordinator gave me a "due date" before the board so he would have plenty of time to get my package together to present.) Personally, I gave a paper copy of my score to my recruiter, but you can send it in through college board (usmc has a code don't remember it off the top of my head)
2) NROTC-MO does not superscore not sure about AROTC

So, yes - it is best to have a coordinator review application before sending it in???

Tough interview - any pointers? My DS is usually a very good speaker and loves to prepare and practice so please send any tips - We have listened the Podcasts about ROTC Scholarships and there is one on interviewing - but any more tips are greatly appreciated.
1. Don't use filler words
2. Maintain steady eye contact
3. Use the S-T-A-R format for relating mini-stories about how you organized a project to get a result, motivated a group, etc
- situation (the challenge facing you)
- task (required of you)
- action (that you undertook)
