    Hello all,

I'm a humble boy from lowly Delaware and honestly I'm worried about receiving a nomination. For my senator's office, they require three letters of recommendation, one of which must be written by someone who doesn't work at your school

I'm struggling to decide who to get to write it.
I have: my manager whom I've been with for almost a year now, my recruiter who's going to work with me of my NROTC scholarship, potentially my swim teacher at the YMCA when I start taking lessons in the early fall, perhaps a teacher from my old school who knows me very well if they allow it? Can't decide :(

Well, if I'm reading you correctly, I don't see how your swim teacher can know you very well if you haven't even started swimming yet. I also don't see how a recruiter can know you very well either. Seems to me like you're down to the manager and teacher from an old school, if the latter isn't problematic.

There's no other adult in your life that knows you and isn't family?

Your teachers will speak to your academic ability. For the third letter, your want someone who can attest to your leadership achievements and/or personal character. So whoever can do that from an up-close-and-personal standpoint, ask that person. Best wishes to you.
