Hopeful USMA Class of 2028 : a place to play the waiting game together.

Did anyone have an update or appointment show up in their portal today? No change here and didn't sleep much last night. Ugh

nope, nothing. Also can updates still show up after the "red banner" update times? I feel like when the update is over at the end of the week that we have to wait until the next week for changes, but I can't seem to get confirmation of this.

Yes, I have seen people get updates at random times. For instance, I read that some people received TWE's last Tuesday. I have also seen appointments on random days.

Same here. I have not seen an appointment reported that has been issued within the last 3 weeks.
 
DS has received a couple of emails/messages this week about his pending offer of appointment. If he isn't going to accept it, to go ahead and decline asap to open up the spot for someone else, which he plans on doing tonight, I think. I'm guessing he's not the only one receiving those messages, so hopefully more appointments will be forthcoming!

DS has not received these kind emails even though he has not accepted the appointment -- pending USNA's decision. He will accept USMA as soon as he gets TD from USNA. He does feel bad for hanging there for so long. My guess is that he has been doing some paper work for USMA such as police record, dental and immunization form for USMA which indicates the likelihood he will accept the appointment.

DS has been in contact with the Area FFR throughout the process and was very open and honest with him about where he'd been accepted and where he was leaning. I think he knew DS just finished his last college visit, so it's time to decide.

Interesting !!! DS's FFR is a private high school head (principal). She knows our area school very well. During the interview last summer, she encouraged DS apply for a few top colleges for ROTC. Anyway, she was the first one to congratulate DS on his LOA (July) even before DS knew. In February DS met her at a DMV high school swimming champs (she had no kids of her own in the meet, obviously she is a big fan of high school swimming competition). She saw DS wearing "US Army West Point" sweater -- and asked "are you going ?" "most likely" DS replied. We have been pretty certain his fate on USNA application for awhile -- just have to confirm it !!!

DS received his appointment over the phone on a Wednesday, then the portal updated that Friday morning. For appointments, that's the only way I've seen them updated, on Fridays. However, after accepting the appointment, I have received notifications through the portal on Mondays, Saturdays, and even Sundays.

I'm not sure if they call every accepted candidate before the portal updates, but if so, that is expected either the afternoon on Tuesdays, or Wednesdays. They meet on Tuesdays (at least for the northeast, according to WP Admissions) to discuss the next round of appointments. Hope this helps.
 
I have a hunch that since I haven't received either an appointment or a TWE, I am probably just in a queue for people who are waiting for appointed candidates to decline their offer.

I am also in the Northeast. So if I did not receive anything over the phone or some other form besides the portal this past week, I probably shouldn't expect anything today?

I agree, that is usually the case. There have been some this year show up on Sundays and last year as well. One Mom I have talked with in the forums said her son was "eating a peep on Easter" when his appointment popped up on the WP portal.

I feel like I have read somewhere that during the busy times they meet more than once a week. Perhaps we are in the "busy" time and things might possibly happen more than once a week....
 
It's also stressful to think that if it is a positive message it could be a phone call from several people, i.e. congressman noms, senator noms, ffr or admin team, or from an email or on the portal.
 
My DD already accepted Civil Prep. If slots open up, could she still receive an appointment this year?🤞🙏
 
Our son received a call from admissions this week asking him a serious of questions, one of which was if he were to receive a direct appointment for the class of 2028 would he accept it? He has an appointment to USAFA and is truly torn between the two so he responded as such. He was told he would hear something in the next couple of weeks. I had never heard of admissions calling before so that threw us for a bit of a loop.
