Fantastic!!!Well…after wavering in belief and resigning ourselves to alternatives…an appointment arrived about 5 minutes ago for my DS - he’ll be entering the class of 2028! A call from our FFR, our regional admissions commander and the congressional office all at the same time lol. Was both excited and hesitant to post here after all these months of collective sighs and congrats…on the one hand, tears streaming down my cheeks with pride and on the other - up until 5 minutes ago knowing that I was the person on the other end of the screen reading about LOAs, LOEs, congressional calls and appointment notifications…both excited for the candidates and their incredibly patriotic and supportive parents…and knowing that was another spot my DS would not occupy. To all of you and your positivity - thank you! For those that are still waiting, DO NOT give up hope and for those that didn’t get it this time around…my DS will see you when you enter in 2029!
MY DS is in the exact same position as you.....it's tough.I'm 3Q + NWL. So it seems like in the past 2 days over 4 or 5 people have gotten the call for good news. Is this from the last few people declining appointments and they are now being redistributed? Contacted my FFR and got nothing, I expected it, he probably doesn't have much to say to me as we are all waiting for those of us who haven't heard anything yet.
LOL let's hope.Don't worry, they're obviously saving the best for last...
Big congrats to you and your DS! 2 incredible options so he can’t go wrong whatever he decides. Hopefully he decides on West Point but I’m a little biased. Congrats again and good luck with the decision!I thought it might be good news when a FaceTime call from DS at MMI popped up while I was at work this morning. A sly smile on his face confirmed it. He received an appointment to the USMA at West Point! A congressional staffer called him, followed by a call from his Congressional District Coordinator. His portal populated with the appointment letter soon after. It will be decision weekend for him as he received a USAFA appointment last month. DS is a first time SA applicant who made the decision to do a self prep year at MMI. Mission accomplished.
Congratulations!! I have been waiting and hoping for this news for you and your DS. Thank you! I am biased too in the same direction as you, so I am trying not to let that impact DS's decision while also providing level-headed advice. There are great reasons to attend both Service Academies and considerations not to. There is no bad decision nor better decision to my mind. But I suppose there is a right decision for any candidate faced with a choice.Big congrats to you and your DS! 2 incredible options so he can’t go wrong whatever he decides. Yes. This year is tracking significantly higher than recent previous years for reported USMA appointments on SAF post 15 April. It is clear that not every year's admission pattern is the same. USMA meant what they said, at least this year, in again declaring a May 1st "deadline."Hey, did you all see that someone from TX-37 received an appointment this morning--and is turning it down....Watch that space as someone who is still waiting or has a AOG or USMAPS will be receive the call. This will be a fun and wild week.
