Hi, I've been sitting on a 3Q and a nomination and haven't been able to relax. I was hoping if you guys could chance me.

1560 SAT (790 Math, 770 English, 24 Essay)
GPA: 4.14
10 AP Classes, 11 Honors Classes
No ranking

Extra Curricular:

Varsity Debate
National Honor Society
National French Honor Society
French Club
Student Government

Yeah you’ll be fine lol. But as we know, academies are notorious for sometimes rejecting the most qualified of candidates, so just take caution. But personally I think you can relax

I'm not West Point Admissions by any means, but I know that an LOE indicates interest in a candidate and a woman in Admissions I spoke to when I visited told me that majority of LOE candidates who achieve the 3Q + nom are admitted. (even though an LOE isn't an LOA, it's meant to convey interest in the candidate...)

Remember, though, it all depends on how you compete with the other kids on your MOC's slate.

Unless Superman is on your congressional slate (or you interview horribly), you should be getting an offer.

Of course, gender, athletic, and diversity quotas could spoil your plans... that's the real rub of it. There won't be many kids that can top your application on paper.

I was given this data for all of the congressional districts on my own thread for nominations. It appears from 2009-2012 your district was somewhat competitive however not all of your congressman’s spots were filled. I’ve highlighted the USMA data in green. I think this generally shows how competitive your district is but do realize that the data is several years old and could have changed in the past 5 years.

The numbers represent the number of nominations granted by each MOC. So since each MOC has 10 nominations available, a number lower than ten indicates that for that class it was not highly competitive (since ten nominations weren't granted).

Or.....it means the MOC chose not to nominate a full slate of 10. I know at least one of the TX districts on the chart is highly competitive, but the chart shows some low numbers. I can only assume that MOC did not submit full slates of 10, but only the numbers they chose to submit.
