How does the offer of appointment display in the portal

Very sorry to hear that!

This was an email from USNA admissions and not a mailed TWE? What did the email say if you don't mind sharing?
It was just the email. Haven't seen any TWE. It was an automatically generated email stating to to reply to it. Here's how it started:
Dear Applicant,
Thank you for applying to the United States Naval Academy Class of 2025. I regret that we are unable to offer you an appointment to the Naval Academy or its preparatory programs this year. The competition for admission is keen and each year we must turn away many young men and women with great potential.

then it goes on about trying again or going through ROTC to become an officer,

OK, thanks for the update and sorry again to hear that.

As was said previously, this year may be different as opposed to others as usually that is in the form of a TWE with USNA. Maybe with the USNA change over to the Salesforce softeware platform with Admissions it is now electronic.

When it states your decision is ready.

Does the gold envelope also reflect an appointment or just an LOA?
Both my LOA and appointment appeared as a gold envelope in the portal. From my own experiences and what I've read, it seems that they remove the LOA and the portal reverts back to the "complete" stage for a couple days before they post another update in the envelope.

Did they receive a nomination because I’m expecting one of these soon and I didn’t have a nom.

I saw a post on the USMA forum that said if you haven't received an appointment at this time, you likely lost your nominating slate. Is this likely true for USNA (given the deadline was pushed back a month)?

I doubt it, I think COVID has just pushed everything back. For reference there's a USNA 2025 group on Instagram and it has less than 600 followers, so there's bound to be hundreds of appointments that still need to go out.

FYI .. ... The 2025 Parents BLB group on Facebook has 184 Members which seems really low. I think USNA is really behind this year.

This gives some hope! The waiting is such a torture. At least most of DS Plan B schools gave a specific time to release the decisions which helps to focus on something while waiting for USNA to make a decision.
