I am applying early action for class of 2028 and I have not received an email saying my application is under review. Should I be worried?

I have a strong application with a good resume, average PFE, and grades but my friends have told me there application is under review and I never received an email telling me mine is under review. Should I be worried I might get flat out rejected?

My DD submitted her application on 9/19/23 and received the email about it being scheduled for review on 10/10/23. She received an email from DODMerb just a few days after she submitted her application so her physical was actually completed before she even got the application scheduled for review email. She has not received a decision yet so she is also getting quite nervous.

Did you check the box to be considered for Early Action? You have to indicate that specifically, not just submit before the EA deadline.

I think you are fine. Seems like calls are being made on Fridays. Are you an athlete? Seems the athletes or the applicants with LOA’s are getting calls first. Best of luck!!!!

My biggest issue is that I'm a varsity track athlete but I don't run fast enough times to run Division 3.

I wouldn't worry. I just replied to another post.... after you submit and get the email that your app will be reviewed in 2 weeks or what ever, you may never get another email or any indication that it has been reviewed. Those updates and the check list aren't always very accurate. Rest assured, as long as you clicked the EA button, your app will be reviewed EA and you'll get some sort of word by 12/23.

Curious, you think you aren't fast enough to run D3 track, but have you made contact with the track coach? There's a wide variety of talent on all the CGA varsity sports teams.

Best of luck to you!!

Hello! Curious if she has applied to other service academies- it’s interesting how some have gotten DODMerb emails and some haven’t.

My DS submitted his application in July, and was notified in September he was "under review". However, it's been all quiet since then. He just focuses on the controllables now - GPA and working out hard
No the only SA she wants to attend is CGA.
We got a DODMERB email right after he submitted his application. He was lucky to be able to schedule both the physical and eye exam within the same week and qualify for both. He updated his AO and coach with his status.

I’m so curious how the DODMERB gets activated- I would think applications have not been reviewed at all just a few days after submitting- so why do some get immediately put in to the system for their medical?

Possibly reach out to AO. I have also heard some DODMERB is going to junk mail. Be proactive, if your applicant is not qualified and offered an appointment, it’s conditional. DODMERB took a long time last year.

Is she being recruited by a coach? The coach recruiting my applicant asked him to text him when he found out DODMERB results immediately and that it would help push his record through faster, whatever that means ?!!

Yes, she is being recruited and the coach has been kept up to date with everything she's done. Now it's just a waiting game.
