I am applying early action for class of 2028 and I have not received an email saying my application is under review. Should I be worried?

Try different browser(s), including older ones.
Confirm it is DoDMEYS and not DoDMERB site.
Use hyphens in SSN (not “dashes” as incorrectly noted on the form).
DoDMETS, sorry about auto-correct.

Oh - and rarely does this happen - but double-check the SSN being typed in versus what USCGA has on file, confirm what DoDMERB has, what DoDMETS has. Contact info for those two sites is on their home page. There could be an error somewhere along the way. USCGA sends/downloads candidate names to DoDMERB, who informs DoDMETS. One error along the way, one digit off, and DoDMETS won’t recognize the SSN. Check for errors tooth to tail. Root cause analysis.

Anyone knows if the Bear Den portal gets updated once a day, overnight, or as applications are reviewed?

It doesn’t look like iPads have hyphens, just dashes. Either way DD is at the very end of her 2 week until review email so maybe something will show up soon. Thank you for you help and fingers crossed!

I was a road warrior for years, using iPads to log into my Cloud desk via VPN - took long hours browsing Apple discussion forums to learn the iPad’s hidden secrets as compared to my old hardened road laptop.

See if this works:

The trend seems to be that letters are posted on Fridays, though my DD's didn't appear until Saturday afternoon (after being told it would be there Friday).

Interesting! I will go give this a try right now! We recently moved full time into a cabin and DD is states away for HS. Haven’t used a proper computer in years, husband is a pilot and I commandeer his old work iPads lol. I’m beginning to think DD should just sit tight and wait another week before bothering the Admin Officer (it’s been real hard for her to connect -NOT a complaint). Rereading the email received just before Thanksgiving- it said app is going INTO review in the next two weeks, not will be reviewed within two weeks.
She wants this will all her heart, no other school on the list because this is what she wants. Stubborn and committed. Thanks again- I’ll let you know if and when she gets logged in!

The 2 weeks is not accurate. It’s just a nice round number to throw out to applicants. And the lack of check marks in the Bear’s Den is not accurate. Even after an application begins the review process, some must make several rounds of discussions. If those people have other pressing matters, application stacks can sit on the desk corner. Finally, the Admiral gets to look them over. He is also busy, so they may sit until he is ready.

I’m so curious how the DODMERB gets activated- I would think applications have not been reviewed at all just a few days after submitting- so why do some get immediately put in to the system for their medical?
Hey I don't know if this is still applicable to you but to anyone wondering,

The DoDMERB coordinator at USCGA recently told me that they send your information over to DoDMERB once they have received and processed your high school counselor information.

I was curious because I submitted my application in November but hadn't received anything regarding medical even into the new year so I sent an email asking about it. I was told that piece of information and to check whether or not that recommender had submitted their info. I received the DoDMERB prompt about a week after my counselor submitted her recommendation.

Interesting information- thanks for sharing. My DD never got a DoDMERB prompt- maybe her counselor dragged her feet. Don’t think we will ever know, she got a NO just before Christmas Day and has decided to enlist and get going doing what she wants to do and getting her degree as a Coastie.

I don't believe that CGA sends everyone for DODMERB processing. I believe that the applications are first sent to the initial cadet review board. If they don't pass through that initial look, then they would not be sent to DODMETS/DODMERB. However, people should keep in mind that the initial email from DODMETS often goes to spam and is overlooked by applicants. So it may be the case that your daughter missed the initial email. Either way, it would not have impacted CGA's decision since the application process and medical process are separate.
