Being in Annapolis during the summer, no matter what you're wearing, is like being in a sauna. Standing in formation Tecumseh Court is like standing on a hot griddle inside a sauna. It's the ultimate weight-loss environment!

These new tadpoles ought to try it without A/C in their rooms. We were blessed more than previous classes because we at least got issued fans for our rooms!

Brother, you ain't kidding. The smell of White Works is unique and one of those that triggers a billion memories all at once when it wafts across the nostrils even years later.

The same holds true for Halsey Field House.

It was nice to be able to recognize people from the forum, even if you didn't get a chance to talk to all of them. I, too, was thinking it might be nice to do something so we could recognize one another, at least those of us who want to be recognized.:wink: Obviously we won't be wearing red/white/blue scarves given the summer temps in Annapolis, but maybe we could put some kind of colored mark on our nametags or wear a ribbon pinned to our shirt or something. Any suggestions or interest? If not, NewNavyMom and I will just have our own private party!:biggrin:

I think the red white and blue ribbon thing is a great idea. What do you think about starting a new thread announcing the plan for those who might not be looking at this thread?
 
Does anyone have the an idea of the timeframe they will be exiting the bus and proceeding to Bancroft Hall?
 
It seems it will be 2-2.5 hours after the report time. That's what we are planning on.

That is SO TRUE! I was back at USNA last summer for BGO training and smelling those white works brought it all back in an instant. There is no smell in the world like it.

And Halsey as well for those of us who didn't have Alumni Hall and Brown Field House. We checked in for I-Day in Halsey, ran winter PTs in Halsey, etc.
