There is lunch, usually cold cut sandwiches (still after all these decades) as it’s an easier meal with tables coming in over several hours. There is also dinner after the swearing in. Some never remember eating. They will not starve. Many are too anxious to eat. They will also be the most hydrated humans on the planet after 3 days there. They will get plenty of food. They changed things a few decades ago to ensure they got to eat. By the way, all great changes. It’s the detailers responsibility to ensure they eat, even if it’s boxed lunches or special tables for those standing watch. They will all be okay, we all made it and so will they. There are more things in place today such as lots of gatorade, their own running shoes, anti bacterial soap. These changes occurred awhile ago to help with heat injuries, stress injuries and heat rash. How and when they can be PT’d is more controlled. Again, all good changes to prevent injuries and preventable issues that take Plebes out of training. The goal is for them to participate fully in training, therefore they need to eat, hydrate, and not get stress injuries.
