I’m not sure what to call it, but IMHO the best made up word ever is misunderestimate. The credit goes to Bush 43.

A constant mantra to my sons was always that it is never bad, but rather advantageous to be misunderestimated.
 
So I was about 40 when I learned that I had been saying "for all intensive purposes" when I should have been saying "for all INTENTS and purposes"

Engineers aren't supposed to be good at this language/writing thing. We just need to build stuff so it doesn't break or fall down.
