I received mine on March 27But I received the noncommittal letter in March
I ain't know expert but ask your regional commander. See I had to send my transcript which helped because use had nearly all A's and I had to send a resume of everything I've done and won, which in my case I had a lot. By the way, my regional commander requested these items. I am from northeast if that helps.Class rank is about 9/75 but the updated one will come out when I return to school. My super-scored sat scores are 1760. My acts score is a 24.
So each NONCOMMITTAL letter says something different? Mine said that a complete candidate application is available and I have 60 days to complete it or else my file is closed. And if your file is closed then you can still try and reapply again?
Your noncommittal might tell you what you need to do reopen file. A competitive SAT scores is around 1800, it could be less if the class ranking is high. So a candidate with say 1700 SAT will be evaluate as at risk and not allowed to go on top the next phase of the application. However, if you take SAT/ACT September/October and bring the scores up, the admissions office will more than likely reopen the application file. A key is not to give up as, if the application is open up in October, there is less time to complete the application. Or some kids give up and don't apply for the nomination, so reopening of the application become irrelevent.
A candidate evaluaton is 60% academic, 30% leadership, and 10% physical. For initial evaluation, the admissions office looks at the academics mostly. Most cases, no CFA for physical evaluation. Don't need to evaluate leadership in detail as if a candidate is weak on academics, strong 30% is not going to make the difference.
Maybe because at the end of mine, it is signed by the northeast technician and it doesn't say anything about file closing after 60 days. What region are you from?So each NONCOMMITTAL letter says something different? I'm from Far West region.Maybe because at the end of mine, it is signed by the northeast technician and it doesn't say anything about file closing after 60 days. Like I said, I could be wrong but it could be a slightly different procedure per region.I'm from Far West region.
Are you 100% finished with your application?Like I said, I could be wrong but it could be a slightly different procedure per region.I'm from Far West region.

No, you should not bother to pursue a nomination until you've improved your SAT scores. Also until then, what else should I be doing besides studying for the exams? Continue to seek nominations and train for the CFA?
