Iran's Largest Navy Ship Sinks In The Gulf Of Oman After Catching Fire
The Kharg was one of the Iranian navy's few ships capable of refueling other vessels at sea.

Probably so. I was there in 1984 and spent 110 days at sea during the Iran/Iraq war. Four years later my good buddy Jim was the Independent Duty Corpsman on the Samuel B. Roberts when she hit the Iranian mine. I met him in 92 on shore duty and we followed each other up the east coast to Camp Lejeune and then to BUMED. About once a year we would chat about that day, and the days after, and he would debrief the incident and I think have a mental health therapy session during our talk. He stayed home from work every 14 April. The Gulf of Oman is/was heavily mined by Iran. I wonder if karma is at play here.
Gee, that's too bad. I feel terrible.![]()
