Thanks for the good wishes. My son is on his way to the first session in 4 days! He wanted to get it out of the way early in the summer!
I bet he must have been so excited to go. I was able to call my son last year while he was there. You can never get used to them being away from home but you will see that he is doing what he really wants to do. It takes a little off the edge of him not being home.
Wishing him good luck but I am sure he will do fine making his own luck!My son called me this past Tuesday night from Fort Lewis just before they collected their cell phones. He was anxious but ready to get it going. We won't be able to communicate with him again for 3 weeks.

Packer, thank you for the good wishes. He prepared very well for it. He really wants to earn that "E".
Jcleppe, yes he is doing CTLT right after LDAC... in Germany! He was really excited to get it because only the top cadets in his battalion had the possibility of getting that slot. We were proud he was one of them. He was assigned the CTLT slot in late April at the same time he was given his LDAC date.
It is amazing the opportunities our sons and daughters have due to their involvement in ROTC!
Why is the Connecticut Lottery (CTLT) being conducted in Germany?
Seriously, it sounds like a great opportunity that he worked hard to get. Does he go straight from LDAC to CTLT? Which branch is he assigned to?

Great first day. 2nd Regiment tests on Friday, 15 June and 1st Regiment begins Land Navigation -- Good Luck to all!!
Found the answer myself... They just posted pictures of the PT test. Looks like drill sergeants are grading. Interesting. I wonder if they will grade next year too because there will be a new PT test implemented. Here's the pictures http://www.flickr.com/photos/warriorforge/
Ha, ha! Wouldn't mind winning a lottery on top of it all.
He literally leaves the day after he is done at LDAC. He is flying across the country commercial and then picks up a military flight from the east coast to Germany. I sure hope it's one of their charter flights that is like a regular airline type plane as opposed to the cargo hold of a troop transport.
He is going to Bamberg with the 16th Sustainment Brigade.
