I'm not sure of the exact timeframe, but based off the last two years, appointments have dropped in March. I know some LEAD applicants have already got a response.

Are you sure about that? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I haven't seen/heard of any.

I called the admissions office about a week ago and they said that they already reviewed my package and they would tell me in March. Also, I'm not sure if my commander will find out first or I will get the notification on the portal; based on the previous threads, it seems like it could be either or. You have to love the hurry up and wait.

Yup. It's killin' me, man. I think the majority of us will get word from our Sq/CCs. That's so sick that they review them and make us wait lol

When admissions reviews your package, the application status switches to "Under Review" or something similar, right? Another airman in my squadron had his status change recently.

Thank you! I started my application super early, like in June. I didn't submit the package until around January 20th, however. I wanted to make sure I could get everything in that I could.

I had to compete for Direct Appointment so I had to have pretty good scores. ACT wasn't that great with a 3.68, but I had a 32 ACT.

Did you get btz? I had a 3.8 and a 32 As well.

Nope, did not get BTZ. Won a few awards tho. Sounds like you're a shoe-in.

Also, I have a 3.83 GPA (edited by USAFA) and scored a 1280/1600 on the SAT. Not to mention I have a chunk of college done, an AA degree, and my CCAF. And I can only compete for direct entry as well due to my age.

Despite all of that I still haven't heard anything back and with April right around the corner I'm beginning to feel uneasy. My application status hasn't changed either. And as Thunder mentioned, does it change to "under review" or something of that nature when the time comes?

In my case, my application status did not change to "under review". It just went straight to "Appointee" a few days after my Commander notified me. If you didn't include it on your application, the Academy doesn't know about it. If I were you, I'd reach out to my ALO to see if winning BTZ can be taken into consideration. You can also reach out to admissions at the Academy directly.

It seems like you'd be a pretty strong candidate for direct entry. I don't want to scare you but it does seem like your SAT is a little below the trend for Direct Entry. That's certainly not to say that you're not competitive. I don't know how much they take college classes into account, but I assume they would help quite a bit.

Wolf, how is the out processing going to work out? Are you on active orders until you're about to leave. Are you required to use up all your days of leave? Are you getting an early sep and just going to go back home until school starts? Are you paying to get there or is TMO taking care of everything? I know it's a lot but let me know.

These are all questions that I would love to know the answer to as well lol. I really have no idea. Once I find out more I'll let you know.
