So... what happens if you do get accepted? Do you separate from AD until the school year starts? Or just keep doing your job.

I would have a ton of stuff to get rid of, including a car and all my furniture.

It is pretty much a PCS. But no car, no furniture. You show up with one bag. They will sent you a list of what uniform items to bring. Save some money, as it sometimes takes a while for finance to catch up with you. A STAR card is very useful.

Interesting. I've heard that you still get your AD pay during your time at the prep school. Is that true?

Yes, at whatever rank you hold when you start School. But just understand that there is a good chance Finance will foul up your records, so save some money, just in case it takes a few weeks for your pay to catch up with you.

Only for Prep.
But Prep will give you something like a 90% chance of admission to the Academy, the best education money can't buy. When you get to the Academy, everything is included, so you don't need pay.

My CC is going to give my counselor a call sometime soon, if she remembers to get back to me I will pass on whatever info she finds
 
My squadron CC asked me if I heard anything today. I told him that he should know before I do. He laughed and said that he would tell me 2 or 3 weeks after he gets notified just to make me wait. :eek3:

Fifty LEAD Prep Offers will appear online tomorrow morning. There may be more (unsure at this point). I should point out that USAFA had almost 250 LEAD applications this year.

Insider, can you tell us how many of those Airmen are too old for the prep school?
