Hello,

I just got a medical waiver for USNA this week. I have a nomination as well as LOA. How long can I expect before I get an official appointment? I am a little bit worried as in the past I have had trouble getting official correspondence e-mails to my inbox.

Any help in this area is appreciated! Thank!

I think the consensus is it takes as long as it takes. Should probably be a few days. If they are still figuring out where they want to slot you, maybe a few more. You don't need to worry. It will show up in your portal regardless of whether or not you receive the email. Just keep an eye on your portal every few days (or few hours depending on your patience level. ;) ). Congratulations!

Relax...nobody has ever missed I day because a missed message; and it isn't going to come any faster checking your portal every hour. Keep in mind, this is crunch time in Admissions, nobody is sitting at their desk just waiting for your waiver to come through and act on your LOA -- it will happen when they get to it.

Thank you!! I think the lack of patience is just stemming from the shock. I never believed I would get a waiver. I got a waiver for peanut and tree nut allergies. (I did have to do oral challenge testing though).

Thank you for the insight!

Mine took about a week, with around two days until the appointment the portal will change from showing a Conditional Offer back to being reviewed by admissions. After those two days it should show fully qualified offer of appointment. Then USNA will send out a physical certificate of appointment, which your parents will probably like a lot more than an update on the portal.

DD's waiver went through on 3/13, and her appointment hit the portal at around 1215 on 3/17. Looking at the postmark on the BFE that we received, USNA sent that on 3/16.

With a waiver, nom, LOA, and as long as your CFA passed, it's time to start warming up the happy dance shoes. It seems like over the last few weeks, the appointments have been sent out on Thursday and Friday.

I always sneeze 3 times after eating my 1st Hersheys Kiss … does that mean I’m allergic to Chocolate? It happens with any chocolate candy.

Then I can eat the whole bag without sneezing …. It’s Weird
