I wish you had better news Ohio, but here is a thought. My kid made it to the National Wait List this year for USMA and did not get in. However, his admissions officer suggested something that is a little out there to achieve admittance next year. He suggested National Guard or enlisting and trying for one of the 140 spots (which are rarely filled) reserved for enlisted soliders. DS wants college experience and thru a miracle from CC he will get that and ROTC, so he was not going to go down that road. However, he does plan on re-applying for the class of 2016, and see if he can create another option for next year. To qualify for one of these 140 spots you must complete basic training. If your son does go down the National Guard route, this may be an excellent idea to gain admittance to West Point. Hard to find a better education and leadership skills than at the Academy. Hope this gives you just one more idea for your DS to explore. Best to you... KevsPop[/QUOTE
Plus if you send your DS or DD, you have the added bonus of getting one of the two top ROO's in the country
One of our cadets attended Marist College so he could participate in ROTC while reapplying to USMA. He got a 3.6 and was accepted to USMA the next Fall. Marist College is the closest ROTC training location to USMA.
