Marine looking for USNA Appointment- Hello!

Hello everyone!

Little about me:

Joined the Corps July 9th, 2007
MCRD Parris Island, Mike CO, PLT 3080 Graduated Oct, 2007
MCT Nov, 2007 Camp Devil Dog, NC
Marine Corps Communications and Electronic School, 29 Palms, CA Nov, 2007-May, 2008
Greensboro Reserve Center, NC 2008-Present

Deployed to Iraq on O.I.F 9-2 with 2nd Maint Bn, 2009

Original idea was to go USNA, but didn't complete my application by the deadline and went enlisted instead. After two years of college and 3 years active duty time over the course of my 4 year reserve career, I've decided I want to give the academy another shot. I'm looking into the process for the reserve enlisted side, and I'm waiting to hear from my BGO about what he reccomends, as I want to get in another deployment before I hit the Academy.

Hope to absorb some good information and potentially meet some other future midshipmen in my class.

And if anyone has questions about me or the Corps, I'll answer them to the best of my ability.

Welcome to the forum, it sounds like you have quite a bit to offer USNA from your experiences. Good luck with the application process.

Sounds like you are cutting the age limits pretty close.

You are OK as long as you do not turn 23 before July 2012.

There is a senior enlisted at USNA whose primary job is to help enlisted personnel with the process. Contact USNA Candidate Guidance for his/her contact info. He/she should be a great source of information.

Thanks guys! I emailed the contact you emailed me (usna1985) and hope to hear from him soon. I would like more than 6 months to get my package together, but if it means I go a year earlier then I can't complain. Just have to get in the first try!
