which one he tried to reserve? My son got an email today and responded right away and got a reservation ticket for CVW on 10/12. I believe there is the other event on Nov.Our son just now saw an email that came yesterday inviting him to a CVW. We went to reserve it, and it says SOLD OUT. He's crushed. Is there any way to get on a waiting list or anything like that?
Wow. My son reserved around 3pm. Maybe your son did later then. All three are sold out. He wanted the 10/12 one as well.
It’s a matter of priorities. The desire to attend a CVW and its role in making a decision must be weighed against missing a contest or two. It won’t be the last time a candidate — and perhaps future mid and officer — will be forced to choose between two important things. Come USNA and AD, there’ll be much tougher trade-offs than this. It’s just going to be really tough for him to attend a spring CVW with his sport schedule for school.
We wondered about this. Thank you so much. Hope that's the case.Try checking again. We noticed they would show sold out, then later show available. I think people sign up and drop out often, or they add more spots. But for sure keep checking.
Keep trying. I just logged in and there was availability for next weekend. Our son just now saw an email that came yesterday inviting him to a CVW. We went to reserve it, and it says SOLD OUT. He's crushed. Is there any way to get on a waiting list or anything like that?
Thanks so much.People always back out for all sorts of reasons. Check back often, especially right before a CVW, as that is when most people cancel (last-minute). Tell Admissions person he is really interested and see if there is a way to be added to a waitlist. If you live in the local area (can drive vs. fly), they sometimes reach out to you at the last minute so as to fill each CVW. If you have to fly, you have to weigh cost of last-minute tickets.
A sandwich not a bad idea. He should have received a list or link of what he can bring. I believe DS brought a sleeping bag to his CVW. They usually get a cot to sleep on. All the details (WHAT TO BRING... REQUIRED FORMS TO PARTICIPATE) & specifics are hereDS will attend CVW this weekend. The program starts at 5:00PM on Thursday. Should he bring his own meal (for the dinner) on Thursday ? I looked at the schedule did not see dinner time. Also should he bring his own quilt or sleeping bag ?

If you the parent have the ability to attend Friday, I highly recommend as USNA does a great job explaining and 'selling' the academy. On my son's CVW they had the following for parents.
- Friday - Admissions/Parent Panel
- Midshipmen Panel
- Center of Academic Excellence
- Break for Lunch
- Academic Presentation by Provost
- Campus Tour
According to DS who just hosted one, the candidates didn't go to King Hall on Thursday but were given dinner. Their midshipman could also find them things to eat.DS will attend CVW this weekend. I don’t think there is ‘guest WiFi’. You may want to load him up with a hotspot on his phone, if he can’t access via data.Is there guest wifi that a candidate can use ? DS needs to do his homework online during the visit
