Navy helicopter down

I know we all grieve for all military loss of life. Always. The current fast pace of the news and focus on the Afghanistan departure has meant the families and shipmates of these lost lives have been overlooked.
I want to know their names and honor them when the time is right. I grieve for the loss of life, their families and their shipmates who will miss their presence.

As someone previously stated, no training operation is routine and our sailors, soldiers, airmen and guardsmen put themselves in harms way daily to perform their jobs. I am sad for their shipmates and families.

The photo in the article is misleading. It shows the helo hovering over stores to be vertrep’ed to another ship. Or so it appears.

The article states the helicopter touched down on the deck of Lincoln. That doesn’t even look like a carrier flight deck. Probably a replenishment ship. More details will follow I’m sure after the investigation.
