This morning, I took my cello on the bus and I decided to sit with my little brother(My little brother sits in the back while I usually sit in the front of the bus due to my large instrument). I was about to sit in one of the seats in the back three rows, but the bus driver informed me I could not do that. I then started to walk up with my instrument to sit in a seat that was not in the back three rows and not taken. But the bus driver started to drive off even though I had not taken a seat.
Because of this, I started stumbling back, instrument in hand, and because she did not stop the bus I just took a seat that I thought was closest to me, which happened to be in the back 3 rows of the bus. She then proceeded to stop the bus and yell at me, telling me that I could not sit in the back three rows. We got into an argument(Which all the kids on the bus heard). While she was telling me I could not sit in the back of the bus I was telling her that I clearly understood that, but she started driving while I was trying to move up to the front of the bus which caused me to almost fall. The bus driver then says "I am gonna get your name on your way out of the bus" and the argument ends.
We get to school and she lets everyone out of the bus but me, and we sit and she lectures me. I do not remember what she said specifically but it was along the lines of "I am in charge of this bus and you do what I say". Again, I responded by explaining that I understand that but things became a problem when she drove off while I was not seated. I would have obeyed her commands as long as she did not put me in a dangerous situation. But as soon as I start explaining my side of the story, she says "I'm not gonna argue with you, you know what? I'm getting administration".
She calls administrators via walkie talkie and talks to them about her situation. She says things like "He refused to give me his name" or "He always causes trouble" "He's been doing this for awhile" "He wont listen to me". Like I said before, I usually sit in the front of the bus, and all the kids on the bus will tell you this, the collective camera footage on the bus will tell you this. My "Reputation" she was talking about is simply not true, administration can ask the kids on the bus or review the bus footage from this whole year to prove that as well. After her conversation with administration I then tell her "You never asked me for my name, you're lying by telling them otherwise". She then says "Okay, well since you refused to tell me your name last time, what is it?". To which I responded "You never asked me last time but- " Then cut me off before I could tell her my name, claiming I had refused a second time.
The administrators arrive, 2 men, and they all stand around me talking to her. She then reiterates what she said before about my "reputation" on the bus and the fact that I refused to give my name. None of the administrators asked me if any of these things about me were true and all they did was write it down on paper and call it a day. The only thing the administrators asked was "Did she ask for your name?" and I said "No"(Which is my big mistake here, should've said "Yes, but..." and explain what happened more clearly).
They only record her side of the story, which is filled with lies about me about what I have done in the past. They did not ask me for my side or whether what was said about me was true. I am expecting to be called up to the office anytime soon.
Currently I have emailed my counselor regarding the situation and a few teachers asking for advice. What do you guys think? Was I in the wrong? Was I in the right? Somewhere in-between? And most importantly, what should my next steps be?
Thank you to all
