No Email/Letter but appointment in the portal?

Hey everyone, I’ve received an appointment on the portal but I have not received a call/text/email or anything from USNA or my congressman. Can anyone tell me if this has happened to them or what might be happening. Going this week for CVW so I’ll ask then but just wanted to see if this was a unique experience or if anyone else has received an appointment but no correspondence. Thanks.
 
Very common. Not unique. You will receive something in the mail at some point.

And by something in the mail, I mean the blue binder with the nice ‘xxx congrats on your appointment’.

To be clear, the appoint offer that you accept is only in the portal. A button that you click and accept or decline.

MOCs have been pretty busy the past couple of weeks. Yours may call - or might never do so.

Agree with all above. Congrats!!!

FWIW, My son received noms from 2 different MOCs. No call from either, appointment just showed up, then BFE, then letter from MOC.

Congrats! Same happened to my DS on 2021. Portal updated with LOA, then Congressional Nom in morning the next day, and then USNA App update in portal. recvd call/vmail weeks later from congresswoman.
 
Wow! An offer of appointment before the CVW?! That is so awesome! You will have a blast! Congratulations to you.

The BFE with blue binder often comes much later than portal or other notice.... I think they send them in batches after the big rush of appointments in March/April. (Of course, could be different with early appointments if they try to stay ahead of the curve).

Yes, great opportunity to see USNA without pressure , but don't have to much fun and do something stupid, ie. No liberty incidents before I day !. I'd even go as far as suggesting that you keep it a bit low key ---your hosts may have waited until March/April this year, and you will be there with other potential classmates who will be waiting for months. You never know how others may react, and these may be your future company and classmates,.

Understood, definitely an important time to not make a fool of myself. Reputation at the Academy before you even get there.

Same here-USNA portal said "Fully Qualified Offer of Appointment" but no email or posted letter, unlike USAFA who sent email saying "check your portal" where the digital letter was waiting.
 
BGOs may not be granted the knowledge of an appointment until some time has passed for the charged appointment authority has had an opportunity to notify. We wouldn’t want to get in the way of that.
