Does anyone know how many Noms each MOC gets? Each Senator? My son turned in his application to the MOC office in person as it was the due date in the afternoon and he wanted to make sure it was received. The Admin told him that their office received 58 applications (including his) but that the MOC only had 1 Nom this year because he only gets 10 and he already has 9 currently at the Academies. However, the Coach recruiting my son told him that MOC and Senators get 10 Noms each. Also, apparently there are "alternate" Noms???
Additionally since applications are not due until 2019, some applicants have not fully completed their applications (need Medical Qual, CFA's etc). So what if an applicant receives a Nomination and then doesn't qualify for whatever reason??? Are the "alternate" Noms ranked in order? Sorry I'm asking what seems like a crazy round of questions but I'm just so confused.

For any SA, each MOC can have up to five cadets/mids assigned to them (e.g. from their district). So typically, a MOC
will have 1-2 open slots to fill (i.e. one per class and perhaps a “spare”). To fill each spot, a MOC can submit up to 10 nominees on their slate. So if two slots are open, then 20 nominees.

That’s the simple math. There are various permutations. For example, a mid/cadet who’s from a district might have a presidential nomination, so doesn’t count against that MOC’s five slots.

As for how the nominee slate is organized, use the search function above to look for the many threads that explain how MOCs can approach this. Did I mention there are many threads? There are.

A MOC can give 10 noms. Only one can get an appointment that is charged to the MOC. Their other nominees can get appointments charged to other sources. That's the simple answer. I strongly suggest you read the stickies at the top of the nominations forum here, and also everything on the academy web site. It's a little complicated, but with a little research and study it's easily understandable.
